Acrylic bathtubs are not easy to keep clean because harsh chemicals cannot be used. Fortunately, there are several folk remedies that will help you deal with cleaning effectively.

Like new: cheap acrylic bath cleaners

1. Vinegar and baking soda

Sprinkle a little baking soda on a damp sponge or rag, and gently rub the surface of the tub. Then mix equal parts water and table vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the solution onto the surface of the tub. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. The acid will remove soap suds, and the soda will remove stains.


2. Lemon juice

Cut a lemon in half, mix equal parts lemon juice and water in a spray bottle, and spray the solution onto the surface of the tub. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. Citric acid destroys dirt and brightens the acrylic coating.


3. Salt and Vinegar

Mix equal parts of salt and vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the solution onto the surface to be cleaned. Leave for a few minutes, then gently wipe the tub with a damp sponge or cloth. The salt acts as a mild abrasive, while the vinegar helps break down the dirt.

4. Hydrogen peroxide

It is a natural disinfectantused to clean and disinfect an acrylic bath. Mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water, apply the solution to the surface. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. Hydrogen peroxide kills bacteria and viruses, making it an excellent choice for maintaining hygiene.

Tip:  Test any new cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure it won't damage the acrylic tub.

Avoid using solvents: turpentine, nail polish remover, acetone. They cause cracking and damage to the coating. Also, do not clean with sponges for washing dishes, steel wool - they leave scratches.

Regular cleaning and maintenance with the right products will help keep your acrylic bath looking shiny and new for years to come.
