1. Ash

A non-toxic, natural substance that is a by-product of stove heating.To prepare the "washing powder" you will need birch ash mixed with water in a ratio of 1: 2.Particles may float to the surface and need to be removed. Such a mixture is insisted for three days, then the solution (lye) is filtered. You can wash things in this water, however, after washing they will become a little hard. 


2. Mustard

Mustard powder is sold in almost any hardware store. It is a natural and safe cleaning and laundry detergent. In addition, mustard has antibacterial properties. It can be used for delicate and woolen items. To do this, you need to make a mustard infusion: dilute 50 g of mustard  in 3 liters of hot water, leave for 4 hours. Then pour the solution without sediment into a bowl. After washing, it is better to rinse woolen clothes in water with vinegar, and silk ones - with ammonia. 


3. Potato

Starchy potato juice is suitable for washing woolen items. To obtain the desired product, grate the potatoes, squeeze the juice, dilute in 2 liters of water and beat into foam. After that, the wool is rinsed in vinegar water. It is not recommended to wash white clothes because they may turn yellow. 


4. Soap root

The soapwort plant contains saponins - foaming substances that are used for washing at the rate of 50 g of root per 1 kg of laundry. The soap root is grated, poured with 500 ml of hot water and insisted for one day. Then boil for at least an hour and filter through cheesecloth. This solution must be used immediately, otherwise the miraculous properties will disappear. 


5. Natural soap

Soap made without surfactants, dyes, fragrances and animal fats, suitable for any fabrics. For washing, you need to grate the bar, dissolve in warm water and beat into foam. To enhance the effect, you need to mix soap, baking soda and borax in a ratio of 2: 1: 1. This mixture washes even stubborn and old stains.

6. Lemon juice or vinegar

This "couple" removes stains well and has a whitening effect. To do this, soak the laundry in water, add 4 tbsp. l. lemon juice or table vinegar 9% for each liter of liquid. Leave things for 20 minutes and wash as usual. 

7. Hydrogen peroxide and ammonia

Means are sold in any pharmacy and are inexpensive. For a bleaching solution, you need 2 tbsp. l. peroxide and 1 tbsp. l. ammonia for every 10 liters of water. This concentration is enough to remove stains and bleach yellowed fabrics.
