How to get rid of acne at home?

Acne is a chronic skin disease that manifests itself as inflammatory elements and open and closed comedones. The main reasons for their appearance are considered to be:

Enhanced synthesis and high density of sebum

Sebum secreted by the sebaceous glands to create a protective mantle on the surface of the skin. According to its chemical composition, the mantle is represented by a mixture of lipids: triglycerides, cholesterol, free and bound fatty acids. When leaving the duct of the sebaceous gland, the lipid components are mixed with the contents of the sweat glands, forming an emulsion. The amount and quality of sebum lipids is genetically determined, but can vary depending on various external and internal factors.

Oily skin type

The symptoms of the disease are most often manifested on oily skin. On it pores are visible to the naked eye, the shine remains during the day. But this has its advantages: wrinkles appear on such skin more slowly, so we can say that it ages more slowly. With the combined type, acne also often occurs, pores in the T-zone (on the forehead, nose, chin) are noticeable. As a rule, with acne, the contents of the sebaceous glands have a denser consistency. This could be due to the high amount of saturated fatty acids in the diet or hormonal changes.

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract affect the composition of sebum, the appearance of black spots on the face. With them the absorption of vitamins is impaired, and also increases the inflammatory load on the body.

Hormonal changes and stress

Estrogens reduce sebum levels, progesterone enhances sebum production. It is for this reason that acne appears before menstruation. Under the influence of the stress hormone cortisol the size and activity of the sebaceous glands increases, the protective properties of the epidermis are reduced.

Hyperkeratosis

This is another reason for acne. And at the same time - a reason to think about how to effectively remove them, cleanse the face of acne at home, how to cure an internal pimple at home. With hyperkeratosis the exfoliation of surface dead cells is impaired and a thickening of the stratum corneum occurs, which, on the one hand, protects the deep layers of the skin from external aggression, but on the other hand, creates additional conditions for clogging the pores. Products containing alcohol in the composition can work too aggressively on the skin. Excessive ultraviolet light can also harm her.

To get rid of hyperkeratosis, you should use mild enzyme complexes, products based on fruit acids or delicate abrasives. These ingredients will help normalize the natural removal of dead cells and restore sebum production. To remove subcutaneous acne at home, use these remedies. The reason is that they have a strong "dissolving" effect.

Reaction to bacteria

Acne can respond inflammatory response of the body to propionibacterium acne... These microorganisms normally inhabit our skin, but due to the clogging of the pores and the accompanying thick sebaceous secretion and the lack of oxygen, they begin to multiply intensively and cause a response from the immune system in the form of inflammation. To obtain the optimal effect, it is necessary to fight both the bacteria themselves and use agents that reduce swelling and inflammation.

Essential oils of tea tree , iris, propolis, rosemary, chamomile, calendula, sulfur and zinc fight bacteria . Sometimes it is required to additionally drink a course of antibiotics, as well as the use of an acne remedy at home based on benzoyl peroxide, but strictly according to the course and under the supervision of a doctor.

How to remove acne at home?

In the treatment of acne, creams, masks, pastes, and ointments based on vitamin A are often used. It is able to slow down the functioning of the cells of the sebaceous gland, and normalize natural exfoliation. But these funds must be used with caution and under the supervision of a specialist. Depending on the indications, the doctor selects the optimal concentration of vitamin A to reduce the risk of hypervitaminosis, which is manifested by excessive dryness and sensitivity of the skin. This is not the only home remedy for acne.

  • Drink plenty of water. The skin receives the necessary vitamins, micro- and macroelements from the blood vessels of the dermis. Water also penetrates into the lower layers of the epidermis, is the main medium for the work of skin enzymes, which means that it affects both the normal course of biochemical processes and cell development, a healthy complexion, and natural radiance.

  • Try to eat right. Limit fast carbohydrates and dairy products. Increase your intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids found in red fish and lean meats. They are able to stabilize the composition of sebum and also have anti-inflammatory effects. Vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin A and zinc, stabilize the skin condition and improve its aesthetic properties.

  • Get fit. Sports loads not only consume energy and form the muscle framework, but also reduce the amount of stress hormones, and therefore, reduce the level of glandular secretion, optimize the composition of sebum.

  • Cleanse your skin wisely. Use makeup removers and cleansers, but remember about the dangers of overdrying. Washing your skin "to a squeak", you damage the protective barrier, stimulate the strengthening of the sebaceous glands.

The myth is that you need to apply toothpaste on a pimple and it will go away. For such cases, there are crayons and spot-ons that reduce inflammation and fight bacteria.

  • Do not squeeze pimples yourself. The skin should be steamed and disinfected before cleaning. Instruments should be sterile, and comedones should be removed gently, without damaging the surrounding tissue, without causing edema and hyperemia. With incomplete removal of the comedone and additional irritation of the surrounding tissues, a significant exacerbation of the rash can occur. Therefore, procedures such as facial cleansing should be entrusted to professionals.

  • Use tonics. They not only restore the acidity of the skin, but additionally moisturize it. In addition, tonic lotions can contain active ingredients aimed at fighting acne: seboregulators, anti-inflammatory, exfoliating and antibacterial ingredients: aloe vera , sage, milk hydrolyzate, iris extract, zinc, sulfur, salicylic acid.

  • Moisturize. With a sufficient moisture content in the skin, stable operation of enzyme systems and optimal metabolism are ensured. Consequently, there is a natural exfoliation of horny cells without blocking the ducts of the sebaceous glands.

  • Weekly care should include both deep cleansing of the skin and restoration of normal cell function. Use peels, rolls or acid-based products once or twice a week to deeply cleanse and exfoliate pores. After this procedure, it is necessary to restore the protective barrier with a mask. It is desirable that it contains porosity components and at the same time provides hydration, healing and creates a protective shield.

If you follow the rules for a month and your skin does not improve, consider visiting a specialist. Perhaps you neednot funds from a store near the house, but real medicines... Depending on the clinical picture and research data, the doctor decides whether it is advisable to prescribe external or systemic retinoid therapy, plasma therapy, mesotherapy or hardware methods for treating acne.
